Set Day
Well set day wasn't bad at all. Most of the things that we did I have done before helping my dad because hes a contracter and theres a lot of work like that. There are two things I am interested in learning more about and they are the sound board system and the rope system for the curtains and other stage props. The technology part of the theatre i think will help make it a better show and add to the design and make it original in some ways.

STOMP
STOMP was extremely good and it had a more musical and comical direction that was really great. I enjoyed how the performers made it funny too and how they would mess around with each other on stage with the things they were using. It was very cool how they made the rhythms with all those common, everyday things. I think it would be really hard to keep a beat and timing as good as they did. I noticed this performance after the blog about Kabuki. Stomp was strongly based on Kabuki both with the music and dance. These elements were made ven more interesting by the performaer's timing. Their skill and talent were very obvious. STOMP was incredibly good.
Greek vs Kabuki
I think Kabuki theatre would be more interesting to see than Greek because Kabuki seems more towards making and enjoying music. Greek theater is made up more of just spoken dialogue on acient stories. This type of performance gets very old to me, I like more action and music. STOMP really appealed to me because of is high energy music and the comedy that the directors used.
Kabuki Theatre
Kabuki is different than most theatre because it was created by women. It is stragne though that women where banned from being a part of the production because they were thought of as inferior back then. It seems that Kabuki has influenced many kinds of theatre productions like STOMP because Kabuki was a skilled type of dance and song theatre which also describes STOMP.

Mulan
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/5082/culture.html
Mulan, historians say, might be a real person. To me that is really neat because I used to watch that movie when I was little and I really enjoyed it. I never thought it was based on somthing that could be true. This makes me wonder whether or not there are some other children's movies that could be based on real characters or events. Many are too far fetched like Hercules to be true. He couldn't be a real person but I do know the story is based on Greek Mythology. It is intersesting to find out that children's movies are based on these kind of things.

musical theatre
http://www.theatrehistory.com/american/musical030.html
This was the website I used to research musical theatre. It was interesting because it talked a lot about where the musical theater in America came from such as the influence of Greek theatre. This also made me realize that we have influence from Greek culture in almost everything. I'm not sure why a lot of our culture is based off of Greek material and design but, it is interesting. I think I wol like to add Greece to a future travel destination.

Week 1 introduction
Hi,
I'm Braxton Herbert, I'm not really sure what to expect from this. I think it will be cool to learn about the technical part of theatre and how to use the sound boards and lights and any other technical things there are. The only other time I have been on stage is when I was little and I don't really remember it and I'm not going to be on stage during this so it won't be better or worse.
